The Occasion: Yvette Alex-Assensoh, VP for Equity and Inclusion & Professor of Political Science 

Dante J. James on Equity -- Esq., Co-Founder and Managing Partner, The Gemini Group. Dante has over 25 years of political and legal experience, He has worked in senior leader-ship positions with government and civil society, providing legal representation in private practice; as an administrative hearing officer; and a political appointee and consultant. He worked for the Clinton administration leading advance work nationally and internationally.

Douglas M. Haynes on Faculty/Staff  -- Vice Provost for Academic Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, University of California at Irvine; Director, UCI ADVANCE Program and Medical Humanities Initiative; Professor, Department of History, UCI. Douglas’ research includes the relationship of medicine and science to imperialism. His publications include: Fit to Practice: Empire, Race, Gender, and the Making of British Medicine and Imperial Medicine: Patrick Medicine and the Conquest of Tropical Disease. 

Christina Samir James on Student Success -- JD, MSW, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, The Gemini Group. Christina has over 15 years of senior level leadership and management experience, where she helps to increase workplace productivity, and health and positive climate and culture change. She has created and led civil rights offices for federal agencies and the Regional Transportation District in Denver. She has worked within the Colorado State Legislature and for the state office of a national non-profit focused on women’s rights.
